First minutes on a high span
The Harbor Bridge carries US-181 over the Port of Corpus Christi ship channel. Shoulders are not a parking lot. Wind off the water moves a high-profile van. Do not walk the span to “see the engine.” Do not stand at the rear bumper in a live lane.
