The paper title is not the only way a Texas storage lot can release a car. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation lists several proofs of ownership or authority. You still pay the tow and storage charges, and you still bring photo ID. Quick Tow Corpus Christi does not run the lot and cannot override it. We connect you with a licensed operator once the yard says the car can leave.

What TDLR actually lists besides the title

TDLR’s consumer page is the list that matters. To recover a car at a vehicle storage facility you provide photo identification, prove you own the car or have the owner’s permission, and pay the fees. Acceptable photo ID includes a state driver’s license or ID, a federal photo ID, or a foreign-government photo ID such as a Mexican license or a matricula consular (TDLR Consumer Information).

Proof of ownership or permission is any one of these:

  • A government-issued driver’s license whose name matches the owner information in the DMV registration database
  • An insurance card showing you as a named insured on that car
  • The certificate of title showing you as the owner
  • A notarized power of attorney signed by the car owner
  • A tax collector’s receipt and a registration renewal card that matches your ID
  • A current automobile lease or rental agreement signed by the operator of the car
  • TDLR’s Personal Vehicle Owner Removal and Inspection form (VSF-013), or the commercial VSF-012

If the title is lost, in a lienholder’s file, or still at the house, start with insurance, a matching license, the tax-collector packet, or VSF-013. Do not invent a substitute. Ask the lot which of those it will accept for your file before you drive over.

Police impound in Corpus Christi is a different counter

A private-property tow from an apartment off SPID or a hospital lot usually lands at the towing company’s storage yard. A police-directed tow can land at the CCPD Vehicle Impound Lot at 5485 Greenwood Dr, Corpus Christi, TX 78417. The city lists that lot as accepting vehicles 24 hours a day, with releases 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. seven days a week. The pound number published by the city is (361) 857-1996 (City of Corpus Christi, Vehicle Impounds).

The city page is written around the registered owner: photo ID, current insurance, and current registration, or a one-trip permit. If you are not the registered owner, or you cannot produce the title, call that number and ask what they will take. Do not assume a TDLR storage-yard list automatically applies to a police hold. If a hold is on the file, only the pound can tell you when it clears.

If you do not know which fence has the car, start with which Corpus Christi impound lot has my car. If you are the registered owner with the usual packet, use how to get a car out of the CCPD impound. This page stays on the missing-title problem.

Storage keeps billing while you hunt paperwork

Texas adjusted daily storage published by TDLR is $22.85 for vehicles 25 feet or less and $39.99 for longer vehicles. A day can be billed for any part of a day after the first 12 hours. Notification can add up to $50 unless you reclaim the car within 24 hours or before notice is sent. Those are statewide caps and rules, not a quote for your file. Call the lot for the itemized amount on your VIN.

You may access the car at the VSF to retrieve ownership documents and personal property without paying a fee. That is how a lot of people pull the insurance card or the title out of the glovebox. You still cannot drive it off without paying the tow and storage charges.

After the lot says yes

A car that would not start before the tow will not start now. Once the yard releases it, call (361) 967-8088. Quick Tow is a referral line. The independent operator who takes the job quotes the hookup before rolling. Our published light-duty hookup starts at $125 for the first 5 miles. That is advertising, not a guaranteed total from Greenwood Drive to Flour Bluff or from a private yard in Robstown to Calallen.

If you are picking up for someone else, read release to a non-registered owner and power of attorney pickup. If you need the TDLR form itself, use VSF-013.
