If you are stalled on the JFK Causeway over the Laguna Madre, on Park Road 22, or near Packery Channel, turn on the hazards and stay out of the travel lane. Call (361) 967-8088 when you are in a safe spot. Quick Tow Corpus Christi is a referral line. The independent operator who takes the job quotes before rolling. The causeway, the developed island, and the park road south of the channel are different runs. Say which one you are on.

Spanish readers already have varado en el JFK Causeway. This is the English page for the same geography.

First minutes on the causeway

The John F. Kennedy Memorial Causeway is the link from Corpus Christi to North Padre Island. Parts of the span are over water with little room to stand. Do not walk the bridge. Stay belted if you cannot get fully out of the lane. Call 911 if you are blocking traffic or if anyone is hurt.

Give the operator a landmark: the city-side approach near SPID and Aquarius Drive, mid-span, the island-side touchdown, Packery Channel, Whitecap, or Park Road 22 toward Padre Balli County Park. “On the island” is not an address.

Summer traffic includes trucks with boat trailers. They do not expect a stopped sedan on the span. Keep the hazards on the whole time.

Packery Channel, Whitecap, and the park road

North of the channel is the developed island: Padre Isles, Whitecap Boulevard, Aquarius Drive, boat-ramp traffic on Caravel. South of the channel, Park Road 22 continues toward Padre Balli County Park and then the Padre Island National Seashore. Those are different distances and different access.

Inside the National Seashore, park staff do not tow private vehicles as a visitor service. A private operator who will enter the park quotes that run before leaving town. We do not publish a park-entry price. Ask on the call. If you are still on pavement at the county park or the developed island, say so. Do not describe a parking-lot stall as “down island” if you have not crossed into the park.

Cell service is usually usable on the causeway and the north island. It gets less reliable toward the National Seashore. Call while you still have a signal.

What the operator may do

A dead battery in a Whitecap driveway can be a jump. A stall on the span is often a flatbed because there is no room to work. A car in beach sand is a different page: stuck in sand on Padre Island. Do not spin the tires on the shoulder of Park Road 22 hoping it is “just sand.”

Our published roadside rate starts at $75. Light-duty hookup starts at $125 for the first 5 miles. Island and causeway mileage is quoted by the operator. Confirm the number before anyone is sent.
